Mark R. Glanville

Mark Glanville (PhD), works as Associate Professor of Pastoral Theology at Regent College, Vancouver, where he has the privilege of training pastors for missional pastoral ministry. Students at Regent come from every continent of the globe.

He has pastored for more than fourteen years in justice-seeking Christian communities in Canada and Australia.

Mark is scholar of the Hebrew Bible. He has authored: Improvising Church: Scripture as the Source of Harmony, Rhythm, and Soul (IVP, 2023); Refuge Reimagined: Biblical Kinship in Global Politics (IVP, 2021; Freed to be God’s Family: The Book of Exodus (Lexham, 2021); Adopting the Stranger as Kindred in Deuteronomy (SBL, 2018; with Luke Glanville); numerous refereed articles (including JBL, JSOT, and CBQ). Mark is presently working on a text book for preaching missionally.

Before pastoring, Mark worked as a professional jazz pianist. He enjoys thinking and writing collaboratively with his wife, Dr Erin Goheen Glanville. Mark is an Aussie; he expresses his masculinity by snapping a crocodile’s neck with two fingers.
